Jackson County Parole or Probation
Parole and probation both permit a person to live outside a jail or prison while following rules, but they arise from separate legal acts. Parole is conditional release from a Texas prison sentence. The TDCJ Parole Division supervises the releasee, while the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles decides parole and revocation matters. Probation, called community supervision in Texas, is imposed by a court. A local Community Supervision and Corrections Department, or CSCD, administers it. Ordinary Texas parole consideration is a file review, not a public courtroom-style hearing. Jackson County Probation Office Split
Probation follows a different local map. TDCJ's CSCD locations page places Jackson with Refugio, Calhoun, DeWitt, Goliad, and Victoria counties. That six-county grouping is distinct from the Victoria parole-office assignment. Use the current CSCD directory because office details can change, and use the sentencing court to establish which department and order control.
For a felony judgment, the Jackson County District Clerk route can supply the signed sentence, community-supervision order, modification, revocation, or discharge.
